About Laurie

Laurie White has been a dementia specialist for 25 years, helping families with the many challenges, changes and choices related to caring for a loved one with dementia. Her career spans two states - Michigan and California - where she has worked in a variety of clinical, educational, community based and residential care settings.

Laurie is a consultant and lecturer based in Santa Rosa, California. As owner of Dementia Care Consulting, Laurie provides counseling, education and care management services to families caring for relatives with memory loss. Laurie also consults with residential care communities on developing and expanding programs for families and direct care staff.

Laurie has presented at national and regional conferences around the country to family caregivers and health care professionals.

Laurie is one of the authors of the nationally acclaimed Understanding Difficult Behaviors and co-author of Moving a Relative with Memory Loss.

"My goal has always been to improve the quality of life for people affected by Alzheimer's disease or another type of dementia: the person with the disease, family caregivers and the direct care or management staff providing the care."
