CEO - Jamie Spooner

Jamie Spooner is a national expert in website usability, human factors, and accessibility. She has 20 years of web design and marketing experience, including four years in advertising (clients included Amex and AT&T) and seven years as a Design Program Manager at Microsoft. She designed the company’s second website, Microsoft Windows Media, Windows 98 website, and Microsoft bCentral. She also holds a patent for an Internet Radio Toolbar designed for Microsoft.com. As the CEO of the North Bay area’s largest web technology, design, and marketing firm, Planeteria, Jamie has overseen the creation and maintenance of hundreds of successful sites. She is a graduate of Smith College.

Jamie is truly our Jill of all Trades. Not only did she come up with the original idea of ICareVillage as an adult child of an aging parent, but she’s involved in every aspect of the site. This includes filming many of the videos, creating original photography, to design and programming and sales and marketing.

CFO - Carolyn Mayes

Carolyn Mayes is a certified public accountant with 25 years of experience in both public accounting and private industry. She has an extensive background in preparing and auditing financial statements and projections of privately held companies. Carolyn has worked with many types of businesses – from start-up entities to large corporations and retirement plans – as a Senior Auditor at Deloitte & Touche, as a Director and Consultant in private industries, and in her own certified public accounting practice. She is a graduate of California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. Carolyn is the ICareVillage number cruncher extraordinaire, but she also has a creative side – writing articles, working on videos, and coming up with new ideas.

Carolyn's personal experience in being a friend and caregiver for her grandmother inspired her involvement with ICareVillage and the creation of the "Wisdom of Elders Across America" documentary.

In her certified public accounting practice Carolyn became an expert in understanding retirement plans and why some are successful and others are not. Carolyn looks forward to using this expertise to help ICareVillage educate it's audience on ways to better prepare for the future.
